The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to determine a complaint by Jason Collins, who said he was refused service at The Punch Bowl because he is a member of the Travelling Community. The decision was dated 8 August 2023; the discrimination merits were not decided.
Mr Collins said he went to play darts with his brother and was told the pub was for locals. The respondent, Laurence Staunton The Punch Bowl, did not attend the hearing. The adjudication officer said the premises was licensed and the WRC could not determine the complaint.
