A WRC adjudication officer found a disability discrimination complaint about access to a parents association was not well founded. The decision, dated 22 November 2023, concerned the complainant’s account that she faced a delay joining the parent council and hostile treatment at meetings. She said she applied around March 2021 and attended her first meeting on 8 February 2022. She described the last two of four meetings as hostile, intimidating and humiliating, and said she resigned on 24 May 2022. The respondent argued it was not the correct respondent and that the parents association did not provide goods or services. It attributed the delay to administrative errors and the pandemic. Adjudication Officer Michael Ramsey found the evidence did not establish facts supporting a presumption of disability discrimination. He also found the respondent had not been informed of the disability at the material time.
