The Workplace Relations Commission said it had no jurisdiction to hear Paul Elmes’s pay complaint against Tallaght University Hospital because it was referred outside the statutory time limit. The decision was dated 21 February 2024. Elmes said he had not received an annual-leave premium for regular rostered overtime during his employment and later learned that former colleagues had received compensation. The WRC deemed his separate Employment Equality Act complaint withdrawn after he clarified that his claim concerned pay parity, not age discrimination. The merits were not decided.
