WRC does not recommend regrading social care worker

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) did not recommend that a social care worker be regraded as a Social Care Leader by a child welfare agency. The worker, represented by Forsa, argued that her duties matched the higher grade and that she should receive its pay. The agency said she did not meet the criteria and lacked the supervisory and training responsibilities required for the role. The WRC noted that the worker had no supervisory duties or staff responsibilities and that an internal review found she did not meet the relevant criteria. Adjudication Officer Orla Jones dated the recommendation 8 February 2023.
