The Workplace Relations Commission found that Adrian Caulfield’s discrimination complaint against Sigma Retail Partners was not well founded. The decision was dated 24 June 2024. Caulfield alleged discrimination, harassment and victimisation in the provision of services, including a failure to provide reasonable accommodation. Sigma denied the allegations and said it had rescinded his permission to attend Harbour Shopping Centre after altercations with other customers. The adjudication officer found that Caulfield had not provided evidence to establish a prima facie case, meaning an initial case supported by enough evidence to require an answer. The complaint was therefore not well founded.
