Housekeeper wins €720 for constructive dismissal and €240 over employment terms

A WRC adjudication officer awarded housekeeper Jade Gannon €720 for constructive dismissal and €240 because her employer did not provide revised written employment terms. The decision was dated 4 August 2022. Gannon said workplace difficulties and her employer’s handling of her bullying complaint contributed to her resignation. Fides Playhouse Ltd said it investigated her complaint, responded to it and held a meeting about the working environment. The officer found the inquiry was procedurally deficient because Gannon was not interviewed and was not given a right to reply. The officer said the finding concerned constructive dismissal, not whether the bullying allegation itself was proved. Her holiday-pay complaint was not well founded, and her Industrial Relations dispute was withdrawn.
