The Workplace Relations Commission found that Pimlico Newsagent did not discriminate against Shivaun Mooney on disability grounds after she was asked to wear a face covering in the shop. The decision was dated 4 January 2023.
Mooney said she left without buying milk because she felt humiliated and embarrassed. The shop denied refusing service and said she was invited to continue with her purchase. The adjudication officer found she was allowed to proceed but chose not to complete the purchase, and had not established less favourable treatment on disability grounds.
