The Workplace Relations Commission has awarded former heavy goods vehicle driver Premyslaw Osztap €7,400 after finding Nvd Trading Limited unfairly dismissed him. Adjudication Officer Maire Mulcahy’s decision was dated 30 September 2025.
Osztap said he was dismissed after refusing a new contract that changed his terms. Nvd Trading Limited argued the role was redundant and that it had offered suitable alternative employment. The WRC found the need for truck drivers had not diminished and there was no genuine redundancy. It also found that Osztap’s conduct in negotiations did not justify dismissal, though it was considered when assessing compensation. His separate working-time complaint was withdrawn.
