The Workplace Relations Commission found that Shane Finnegan named the wrong employer in five complaints against JP Ryan Limited. In a decision dated 27 February 2023, it said Darland Enterprises Limited was his employer and found the complaints against JP Ryan not well-founded. The complaints concerned unfair dismissal, minimum notice and safety, health and welfare at work. The WRC considered employment documents, payroll and Revenue details, and evidence from the managing director in identifying Darland as the employer. It said Finnegan suffered no disadvantage because some documents, including training certificates, used the parent company’s name. The decision notes that separate decisions had been issued on the claims against Darland; it does not state their outcomes.
