The Workplace Relations Commission found that Alexandra Dunne was not unfairly dismissed after she resigned from Queen B's Creche in February 2021. Dunne said she was left with no alternative after unreasonable treatment by the creche’s directors. The respondent disputed her account of the events and said she became upset during a discussion about workbooks, uniform and phone use. The decision was dated 30 January 2023. The adjudicator found no breach of the employment contract and said Dunne had not raised a formal grievance before resigning. Constructive dismissal is when an employee resigns because the employer’s conduct makes it reasonable to end the employment. The WRC found Dunne was not unfairly dismissed.
