The Workplace Relations Commission found against Linda Heffernan in her discrimination complaint against Oiliuna Limited, a vocational training provider, in a decision dated 6 June 2023.
Heffernan said attendance and lateness were closely monitored while she cared for her children, and alleged she was excluded from resumed in-person classes and bullied by tutors. She also claimed victimisation and harassment.
Oiliuna said attendance oversight was required by the education board overseeing the course and that it offered flexible arrangements during pandemic restrictions.
The adjudicator found that the provider had made reasonable efforts to accommodate Heffernan and that the evidence did not establish discrimination, harassment or victimisation. The complaint was not well founded.
