The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a hospital pay a supervisor €4,000 for carrying out additional maintenance duties under protest. The recommendation was dated 20 January 2023. The officer found the five maintenance duties were not part of the supervisor’s original Grade 5 role and had been added in mid-2020. The WRC also recommended that the role be evaluated by a mutually agreed person to determine its appropriate grading, including whether it should be Grade 6.
