The Workplace Relations Commission found that bus driver Lee Stella failed to establish a prima facie case of disability discrimination after he was instructed to wear a mask or visor at work. Stella said he was exempt from wearing a face covering and that doing so would cause severe distress. Go Ahead Transport Services (Dublin) Limited t/a Go-Ahead Ireland said its Covid-19 policy required coverings in the depot and Stella had not provided medical evidence for his claimed exemption. The decision, dated 29 August 2022, found he had not shown discrimination on disability grounds in his conditions of employment.
