The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Joseph Gallagher €1,000 after finding his employer, Mochua Print & Design ETS Printers, failed to confirm changes to his working arrangements in writing. The decision was dated 6 April 2023. Gallagher, a production manager, said he was not notified in writing when his terms changed after he returned to work reduced hours. The employer said the reduction reflected business needs. The WRC found Gallagher should have received a written statement explaining that the reduction was temporary and its implications, including overtime arrangements and changes to his role. The commission upheld the written-terms complaint and awarded €1,000 compensation. It found complaints about working time, banded hours, bullying and harassment, and minimum notice not well founded. Eight other complaints were withdrawn at the hearing.
