The WRC found Raymond O’Neill was unfairly dismissed by Flairline Fashions T/A Pamela Scott and awarded him €1,233.60. The decision was dated 29 March 2022.
O’Neill had worked as a graphic designer for the company since August 2010. The WRC found undue pressure was placed on him to resign after he was told to do so to avoid the matter being reported to Gardaí, without time to reflect, seek advice or be accompanied.
He had been working his notice and secured other work, so the WRC awarded compensation for eight days’ lost pay. It did not count the claimed bonuses as remuneration under the Act.
