In a decision dated 17 February 2022, it rejected Madden’s unfair dismissal and minimum notice complaints, finding he had chosen not to work the Saturday hours offered and resigned voluntarily. Madden had said he was dismissed after refusing a change to his Saturday hours. The WRC preferred his nephew John Madden’s account that he did not want the available hours and intended to find work elsewhere.
