The Workplace Relations Commission found Pawel Zadruzny’s rest-break complaint against G4s Secure Solutions (Ire) Limited was not well founded, in a decision dated 29 March 2022. Zadruzny said he was denied the required 11-hour rest period 28 times in six months and was dissatisfied with the compensatory rest provided. The company said its records showed only two occasions, including one shift outside his normal roster. The adjudication officer found evidence of only one occasion when the gap between shifts was less than 11 hours, rather than the 28 claimed. He said the isolated breach did not warrant a remedy and found the company’s systems to manage possible breaches were largely effective.
