The Workplace Relations Commission found Michael O’Brien’s Equal Status complaint against Kerry County Council; Corporate Services was not well founded. The decision was dated 24 February 2022.
O’Brien alleged that a council worker verbally abused him with reference to his Traveller background during a July 2019 visit to a house, and that staff treated him dismissively when he later went to the council offices. The council denied that discriminatory conduct occurred.
The adjudicator found O’Brien had not provided sufficient evidence to support the complaint, which was not upheld.
