The WRC rejected Veronica Battles’s four discrimination complaints against Black Cap & Company LTD T/A Healy Rae Mace Shop over a dispute at the shop on 20 May 2019. The decision was dated 17 December 2019.
The adjudicator found no evidence of discrimination on gender or disability grounds, noting Battles confirmed there was no gender-related comment and that the sales assistant could not have known of her disability. She was served, received the goods and was refunded; the WRC found she was not treated less favourably on race or Traveller Community grounds.
