WRC finds no jurisdiction over Mark J. Savage’s complaint against Fingal County Council

The WRC found it had no jurisdiction over Mark J. Savage’s Equal Status complaint against Fingal County Council because he notified the council four months after the alleged incident, beyond the two-month time limit. The merits were not decided. The decision was dated 5 November 2019. Savage alleged that a steward at a public event had discriminated against and victimised him while he distributed pro-life pamphlets. The council rejected the allegations and said it had no knowledge of the steward. The adjudication officer found that Savage had not established reasonable cause to extend the notification period.
