WRC finds Traveller community member’s Equal Status complaint out of time

The Workplace Relations Commission found that a member of the Traveller community’s Equal Status complaint against a local authority was submitted outside the statutory time limit and was statute barred; the merits were not decided. Adjudication Officer Andrew Heavey dated the decision 11 August 2023. The complaint alleged discrimination and harassment over the family’s accommodation needs, including an alleged failure to carry out refurbishment work.
