The WRC dismissed Olumide Smith’s Equal Status complaint against adjudicator Pat Brady, finding it had no jurisdiction to investigate the claim; the merits were not decided. The complaint alleged race discrimination, negligence and breaches of fair procedures during a hearing. WRC Adjudication Officer Brian Dalton dated the decision 2 December 2021. He found that an adjudicator’s statutory decision-making functions are not a service covered by the Equal Status Act and are subject to judicial oversight.
