WRC finds no jurisdiction over Dariusz Bula’s Equal Status complaint against Garda commissioner

The Workplace Relations Commission found it lacked jurisdiction over Dariusz Bula’s Equal Status complaint against The Commissioner of An Garda Síochána, Nóirin O'Sullivan. The decision was dated 19 November 2019. Bula alleged race discrimination in the handling of his report after a road traffic accident. The WRC found that investigating and prosecuting crime were not services covered by the Equal Status Act. It also found that Bula had not established facts sufficient to raise an inference of discrimination.
