The WRC recommended that a hospital group regrade a clinical nurse manager to Assistant Director of Nursing (Non-Band 1), effective from 18 October 2016. The recommendation was dated 9 May 2017.
The nurse sought retrospective regrading under HR Circular 001/2007, arguing that her night-duty responsibilities met its criteria. The hospital group said her hospital was a Level 2 site and did not qualify for a night ADON post.
The adjudicator recommended the regrading on a personal-to-holder basis after considering both sides’ positions. The nurse had worked night duty as a clinical nurse manager, while the group maintained that the circular did not apply to her hospital. The recommendation sets the effective date as 18 October 2016.
