WRC recommends HSE appoint worker to higher band and pay outstanding retrospection

By Niamh Kearney

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that the HSE appoint a worker to the appropriate higher band from October 2013 and pay any outstanding retrospection within four weeks. The recommendation was dated 19 April 2017.

The worker said the HSE had stopped her acting allowance and failed to regularise her acting post under HR Circular 017/2013 or hear her grievance. The adjudication officer found she had a legitimate grievance and that her position should have been regularised. The HSE did not attend the hearing.

The officer also recommended that the worker’s manager meet with her urgently to agree the title and brief of her post in her current location.
