The Workplace Relations Commission recommended final mediation in a process operator’s two complaints, in a decision dated 14 March 2017. The worker said the company had failed to investigate workplace bullying complaints and had denied sick-pay benefits after a work-related injury. The manufacturing company said it had responded to grievances, offered a shift change and external mediation, and denied a work-related injury or breach of its sick-pay scheme. The adjudication officer said the issues were not straightforward and recommended that both sides engage in final mediation and be willing to compromise.
