A nurse’s unfair dismissal complaint failed on its merits after the WRC found that delays in addressing her grievances did not show a deliberate and unreasonable failure by her employer. The decision was dated 20 September 2016. She said management’s handling of a workplace transfer and her grievances left her no reasonable option but to resign. The employer said she had not been dismissed, could have returned to work and retired with her pension and lump sum. The adjudicator accepted that procedures were extremely slow, but found that the transfer itself did not justify resignation and that some delays were outside the employer’s control.
