The Labour Court directed P & O European Ferries to pay a worker £350 in addition to lost earnings relating to a tug incident. The decision was signed on 18 June 1999. The worker, represented by the Amalgamated Transport And General Workers' Union, alleged harassment and victimisation over incidents involving a mooring and a defective tug, and said they affected his promotion prospects. The Court did not accept that the incidents amounted to harassment or victimisation, but directed payment of the £350 recommended by the Rights Commissioner as well as the lost earnings.
