Labour Court upholds recommendation on City Of Dublin Vec key-holder allowance

The Labour Court rejected an appeal by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and upheld the recommendation that the worker’s claim to restore a key-holder allowance withdrawn by City Of Dublin Vec should fail. The decision was dated 3 June 1997. The recommendation also included an ex-gratia payment of £500 in full and final settlement of the claim. The allowance had continued after the worker moved from Fort Osman to the college’s main building, and was stopped in February 1995 after the College discovered the oversight.
