Labour Court upholds £1,000 recommendation to Bord Gais wages clerk

The Labour Court upheld a £1,000 recommendation to compensate a Bord Gais wages clerk for losing significant elements of his work after a proposed payroll change. The decision was dated 22 November 1996. The Amalgamated Transport And General Workers' Union said the change would transfer the clerk’s work to an employee attached to another union, and that Bord Gais had not consulted it under the works agreement. Bord Gais said the changes were minor and its older computer system could not handle fortnightly credit transfers.
