In 1996, the Labour Court agreed with a recommendation that An Post make a £250 charity payment to resolve a dispute involving 24 Dublin Mail Centre workers removed from the payroll. The decision was dated 11 November 1996. The Communications Workers' Union said the workers continued their normal duties and faced oppressive additional supervision. An Post said they had refused legitimate instructions and were properly removed from the payroll.
