The Labour Court amended a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation on pay for a worker at Advantage Printers Limited, keeping three phased £5 weekly increases and recommending that the two non-supervisory art-room workers’ rates be equal from 1 January 1998. Its decision was signed on 27 November 1995. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (SIPTU), representing the worker, had sought to raise his weekly pay from £214 to £241. The company said financial problems meant it could not afford increases and warned that they could lead to redundancies.
