In 1994, the Labour Court upheld R And H Hall's appeal against a Rights Commissioner's recommendation on casual work allocation. The Amalgamated Transport And General Workers' Union had argued that its member should have first call on available work. The Court found no grounds to substantiate unfair treatment in allocating casual work. It said the worker had received the agreement's increased rates when employed casually and that Clause 8 applied to him. The appeal was heard on 11 November and the decision was signed on 13 December 1994.
