In 1993, the Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that Dublin Box Company Limited pay a worker £200 compensation after she was unfairly selected for redundancy. The worker had said her dismissal might be related to her sick leave. The company said demand for fancy boxes had fallen after Christmas and there was not enough suitable work. The Court confirmed the recommendation on 28 September 1993.
