In 1992, the Labour Court increased to £400 the compensation recommended for an unnamed worker after a finding that her dismissal was unfair. The Court dated its decision 8 December 1992. The worker had appealed the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation of £300, and the Labour Court amended it to include her additional appeal expenses. She said a lower-paid role given to another employee should have been offered to her. Boland Auto Sales Limited said a downturn required reducing its main-office staff.
