The Labour Court upheld a recommendation that Peter O'Brien Catering Company Limited pay £250 to each of two former casual sandwich makers and provide each with a satisfactory reference. The decision was signed on 15 January 1991. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union appealed after the workers were not called up during 1990. It sought compensation, citing their long service and a higher payment made to another worker. The company said its race-meeting activity had greatly reduced and supported the recommendation. The Court found no grounds to change it.
