The Labour Court increased a Rights Commissioner’s compensation recommendation from £750 to £850 on a worker’s appeal against King & Corrigan Motors Limited. The decision was signed on 13 December 1990. The company dismissed the worker after alleging he threatened a colleague; he denied making a threat. The worker accepted the Rights Commissioner’s £750 recommendation, but the company did not implement it. The Court agreed with the Rights Commissioner’s assessment after hearing evidence from employees involved in the incident. It amended the recommendation to £850, citing the delay and additional appeal costs, and the amended recommendation stood.
