The Labour Court upheld a recommendation adjusting discipline imposed on two Dublin County Council workers and rejected the unions' appeal on 22 August 1989. The Irish Transport and General Workers' Union and the Federated Workers' Union of Ireland represented the workers. The Council had imposed a month's unpaid suspension, transfers and final warnings after alleging the workers removed a hydraulic ram from its depot. The Rights Commissioner recommended reducing the suspension to one week while implementing the transfers and final warnings subject to a time limit. The Labour Court found no sufficient reason to alter that recommendation.
