The Labour Court dismissed a worker’s appeal against Bord Gáis over a bullying investigation and a pay-parity claim. The decision was signed on 7 July 2014. The worker was represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The worker argued that an external investigator should have handled his bullying complaint and that supervisor posts were not openly advertised. The Court found no breach of the agreed investigation procedures and said the investigation was fair and impartial. On pay parity, the worker sought regrading from Band 8 to Band 7. The Court was not satisfied that cogent arguments supported the claim, noting that €6,000 had been paid in full and final settlement of the issue. The Court dismissed both parts of the appeal.
