The Labour Court rejected a premium-pay claim by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for Radiation Therapists, but recommended that the union and HSE Cers address a pay anomaly between Radiation Therapists and Radiographers. The recommendation was signed on 7 July 2014. The union sought twilight payments and overtime rates for the therapists in line with those applying to Radiographers. HSE Cers said conceding the claim could reopen parts of the Haddington Road Agreement and prompt similar claims across health-sector grades. The Court said the Public Service Stability Agreement 2013-2016 constrained it. That agreement set different overtime rates according to salary and ended twilight payments. The Court said the parties should address the resulting anomaly without infringing the agreement.
