The Labour Court disallowed UCD’s appeal, leaving in place a recommendation that a worker be reassigned as a College Lecturer from autumn 2010. The decision was signed on 17 April 2012. The worker, represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, argued she was qualified for appointment from autumn 2010. UCD said she was qualified to compete for the post, rather than entitled to appointment. The Court said the recommendation followed logically from a process the college had accepted and that it had no precedential value.
