The Labour Court overturned a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that a worker receive the original voluntary redundancy offer and upheld Iarnrod Eireann’s appeal. The decision was signed on 18 November 2010. The Court found that the package depended on the worker’s age when the railway crossing was automated. He was over 65 at that point and had received the package that applied to him, including an ex-gratia payment and termination bonus. The Court said no further money was due.
