The Labour Court varied a Rights Commissioner’s €2,000 recommendation to €750 in a dispute involving Moore Cleaning Services and a worker represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The decision was signed on 31 March 2010. The worker, employed as a janitor, had raised a bullying and harassment complaint against two supervisors and the union sought an investigation. The Court found that the company had started an informal process to resolve workplace difficulties but had not completed it. Although the matter was eventually resolved, the Court said this happened more by coincidence than through the company’s actions. It awarded €750 in full and final settlement of the claim.
