Labour Court upholds €3,000 recommendation to a worker in Gold Force appeal

The Labour Court affirmed a €3,000 compensation recommendation to a worker after Gold Force Security Management. appealed. Its decision was signed on 25 April 2007. The worker said she was dismissed without adequate notice or an explanation, and that alternative jobs offered in Waterford or Limerick were too far away. The company said a client had requested a change of security personnel and that it had no suitable work available in Cork. The Court said the worker’s treatment fell far short of the reasonableness an employee was entitled to expect. It disallowed the employer’s appeal and affirmed the recommendation.
