Labour Court upholds recommendation in Ulster Bank overtime and parking dispute

The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation in a worker’s claims over lost overtime and the loss of workplace parking at Ulster Bank. The decision was dated 19 November 2001, and the Court rejected the union’s appeal. The union said the worker lost about £60 to £80 a week when rostered overtime stopped and that losing his parking space after moving from Sandyford to Camden Street caused considerable inconvenience. The bank said the overtime claim was unsubstantiated and that the move had been agreed collectively. The Court found the recommendation reasonable in the circumstances and upheld it. The worker is not named in the decision.
