Around Dromod
Dromod has the Cavan and Leitrim Railway season in the centre of the village diary. The railway opened from Easter Sunday, 5 April 2026, and runs until the end of September, with Saturday hours 11.30am-4.30pm, Sunday 1pm-4.30pm and Monday 11.30am-4.30pm. Entry is listed at EUR9 adult, EUR6 child/student/OAP and EUR20 family, and the volunteer-run visit is described as 45 to 60 minutes with transport exhibits, aircraft cockpits and a narrow-gauge railway trip. Leitrim County Council also congratulated Dromod Tidy Towns on a Bronze Medal in the 2025 Tidy Towns awards. Dromod Harbour Petanque is a newly established Leitrim club, The Copper Still serves food daily and carries weekend music, and Dromod Boxty's food listing points to traditional family recipes, locally sourced ingredients where possible, gluten-free boxty, potato bread and pancakes. The harbour, marina, boxty, pub music, petanque, cycling, visitor stays and Annaduff/Drumsna parish links sit around that seasonal stop. Local notices keep Dromod tied to parish and harbour life. Dromod Village & Tidy Towns describes the village as part of Annaduff parish and shares club/parish notices, including the golden-jubilee Mass item for Fr Frank Garvey from Drumsna and Fr Cathal Faughnan from Annaduff. Dromod Harbour Petanque adds the small-club side at the harbour, while The Copper Still's weekend music, The Brandywell, Cox's and Dromod Boxty keep the food and evening-life line active.
