This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

A woman who hit a motorcyclist while moving onto the M50 slip road at Junction 6 has received a suspended nine-month sentence for careless driving causing serious bodily harm. Nafisa Xussein pleaded guilty to the offence, which followed the October 25, 2021 collision in Blanchardstown.

The court heard that Xussein had indicated before moving across but did not see the motorcycle. The rider suffered fractures to his wrist, collarbone, ribs and pelvis, and bruising to his right lung and pelvic area. His impact statement described lasting effects, including limits on his work as a diving instructor.

Judge Jonathan Dunphy suspended the sentence for 12 months and did not disqualify Xussein from driving, citing evidence that she needed her licence to take her child to medical appointments.
