Vesel Jahiri’s murder trial at the Central Criminal Court was adjourned after he punched prosecuting barrister Patrick Marrinan SC. The proceedings were reported on 7 April 2017.
Jahiri pleaded not guilty to murdering Anna Finnegan and to assaulting Karl Finnegan, causing him harm, at Allendale Glen, Clonsilla, on 21 September 2012.
Five prison officers wrestled Jahiri to the ground, handcuffed him and took him from the courtroom. The trial resumed before the jury after a 20-minute adjournment, and Mr Justice Paul Coffey said it would proceed in Jahiri’s absence.
