Three unnamed brothers were jailed for rape and sexual abuse at the Central Criminal Court on 6 November 2023, with terms of 11, 15 and 16-and-a-half years.

The convictions followed a trial over abuse of four child relatives, and the judge described the family as ruled by an abusive father figure.

The 66-year-old father’s sentencing was adjourned because he was in hospital; he was already serving a 16-year sentence for sexually abusing his daughter.
