Terry McGinn was named in a tribunal account of an alleged remark about Garda treatment of women, reported on 28 September 2017.

A statement recorded by Sergeant Paul Wallace said Garda Keith Harrison reported that Chief Superintendent McGinn entered a Letterkenny Garda station room while Marisa Simms was making a statement in October 2013 and made the remark. Ms Simms separately told the tribunal that she had not seen Chief Superintendent McGinn at the station.
